Center for European Studies Student Forum (CESSF) cordially invites you to the 11th European Weekend School (EWS 2014) which will be held on 15 – 17 May 2014 at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. EWS is an international certificate program that brings together undergraduate and graduate students from all over Europe; and enables them to exchange opinions with distinguished politicians, bureaucrats, academics, representatives of NGO’s, and leading journalists.

EWS 2014 will be held this year with 40 participants from both European countries and exchange students in Turkey, which will be executed on the principle of deliberative discussion, based on the idea of enabling interaction between participants and speakers during the panels and to involve every participant directly to the discussion of topics in the student workshops. The conference will be conducted through the topics of:

  • A Historical Overview to the EU: the Legal and Institutional Protection of Minority Rights
  • Different Policies towards Minorities in the EU’s Member States
  • Minority Rights Protection in the EU’s Foreign Policy: towards Candidate States and Third Parties

Besides the panels and student workshops that will be held for 2 days, there will be social programmes including a cocktail prolongé and a boat trip for participants to enjoy the glorious view of Bosphorus at night.

EWS 2014 is open to all university students, including foreign exchange students, who are pursuing an undergraduate or a graduate degree in Turkey, Europe or overseas regardless of their country of origin or their age.  The application process has already been over. Thanks for your attention.

Participants will have to pay a participation fee of 120 Euros after they arrive. The participants who won’t be accommodating in our premises will have to pay a participation fee of 75 Euros upon their arrival.

The panels, workshopsfood, social programme and accommodation expenses of the participants will be covered by the organization.
